Axel Portrait WIP

A portrait of my character Axel that I have been wanting to do for ages. This is a work-in-progress, of course, but amazingly the first digital painting that I've done that I can walk away for an hour, come back, and not be repulsed! Hurray! The... hand still is a piece of shit but I'm working on it.
He is from my story, 'The Watch' (and you can find my previous portraits of him in my gallery and see how much he's changed and I've grown!)
Ok, so a little background on Axel:
As a boy, he was hunted down by these robotic bad-guys, the Barshnok, and after years on the run they found him. They chased him unknowingly into a mine-field and blew themselves to pieces. Axel managed to escape (with a few scars from the debris) and fainted from exhaustion. Later, when he woke up, he was frightened by a passerby and he himself ran into a mine and got essploded. The passerby took Axel into his house, saved him from death, and proceeded to rebuild his body with the remains of the Barshnok. Axel's warrant grew more now that he was suspected of murder and he has to hide his face and robotic limbs from the public to avoid discovery.

Update! I have improved his cloak, gave him his facial burns, and began on his metal prosthetics. Hurray!
